Jeremy Cordon
Founder & President of Goldback inc.
I became interested in the precious metals world as a very young adult after watching this incredible video series by Mike Maloney called “The Hidden Secrets of Money”. In this series he draws attention to the fundamental flaws in the U.S monetary system and draws the conclusion that gold is money and always has been.
The precious metals space is fairly small so I didn’t envision myself being able to find a job in it. I did meet Larry Hilton at an event at the Capitol in Salt Lake City while interning with the Libertas Institute. He had a small side business serving the United Precious Metals Association with gold and silver accounts. About a year later I wrote a blog about his business that ended up being read by over a quarter million people on Zerohedge.com. The article resulted in an explosion of interest in the United Precious Metals Association (UPMA) and I used that as leverage to successfully get a job with Larry. He agreed to start me out full-time for $10 an hour which was a steep pay cut. I don’t remember how I sold my wife on this but as a result I ended up working in the space that I was interested in the most.
As the first full-time employee I was able to help grow UPMA from being an organization with 400 members to one with 25,000. I also negotiated myself into a management position. In 2018, I worked on a gold crypto project called Quintric where I served on the board of directors.
The Goldback project to me feels like a possible answer to Mike Maloney’s problem that he presents in his series. Now most of my attention is focused on the Goldback which was set up under a new company: Goldback Inc.
Christopher Jensen
Co-Founder and Vice President Goldback Inc.
Mr. Jensen came into possession of his first silver coin, a pre-1965 Benjamin Franklin half dollar, in 1999 which ignited his passion for precious metals and constitutional currency. Eight years later he was invited to participate in the mining operations of a modest claim in the western regions of Utah and his passion has only deepened from there. In the years to come, he would return again and again to mine his first raw ounce of silver by hand, to build security measures into the mine, to expand and explore new levels and make improvements in the mines’ operations. His enthusiasm and trustworthy nature, combined with his ability to problem solve and innovate, earned him a trusted position at the mine in 2012, which he continues to hold to this day.
In addition to this passion and level of trust, Mr. Jensen also brings to the table over a decade and a half of experience with inventory and warehousing in which he has been involved in various degrees since 2004. Similarly, Mr. Jensen began his first small business venture in 2004 which he ran successfully for over ten years. Through that experience he developed an understanding of how to run the operations of a business and manage client relationships. Furthermore, Mr. Jensen previously served as the Manager of Operations for the North American Monetary Exchange from 2016-2017, as its President from 2017 to 2018, and currently serves as acting President and on the Board of North American Monetary Exchange’s successor company, Quintric Holdings Inc. where he actively manages the buying, selling and vaulting of millions of dollars worth of precious metals. This background, coupled with a degree in Integrated Studies from Utah Valley University, including a special emphasis on techniques and methodologies for combining seemingly diverse disciplines and perspectives into a cohesive, complementary whole, gave Mr. Jensen a keen understanding of the problems presented by the integration of the equally entrenched worlds of currency and precious metals. Furthermore, this unique background in the field spurred Mr. Jensen, together with Mr. Jeremy Cordon and Mr. Lawrence Hilton, to form Goldback Inc. through the strategic marriage of the worlds of currency and precious metals to give people an easy to use, beautiful currency that also has intrinsic value and a reliable track record of holding its purchasing power.
All of these elements, combined with a relentless focus on regulatory compliance as well as physical and digital security, make Mr. Jensen well suited for his current positions as a Board Member and Vice President of Goldback Inc. and his specific role of guiding the company through the developing monetary landscape that lies ahead.
Kevan Mills
Director of Sales & Marketing
Kevan Mills is, to his core, a people person and a man that growing up in a farming community understands the value of hard work. He has always loved talking to people and started his first enterprise at the age of 8 mowing his neighbors lawns. Six years later he started in sales selling roses to his neighbors husbands for Valentines Day and was so successful he has been an entrepreneur ever since. His first company was founded when he was twenty three and he has been a business owner in four different companies over the last 25 years. Seventeen of those years in Door to Door marketing.
Anyone with a sales background knows that Door to Door is one of the most difficult sales jobs with the highest turnover. Kevan excelled because strangers liked him, clients loved him, and other salesmen wanted to be him. Kevan understands people and works like a farmboy from sun up to sun down. Kevan has said many times that he is not the most talented salesman in the world, he just works like he wants to be. Kevan stepped away from a company he started eight years ago to join the Goldback team because he shares the vision of what Goldback could be and even more he believes in the Goldback team. Kevan has one unbreakable rule in business. To never work with someone he doesn't trust. Kevan implicitly trusts the Goldback management team.
At 45 years old Kevan lives with his wife in a blended family with their combined children in Utah. He loves being a father and young grandfather. It's probable that if dealing with him you will hear dad jokes and puns a plenty, and if you don't laugh Kevan will tell the joke again and if you do laugh he'll repeat the punch line. Kevan works hard, laughs hard, and is excited to be part of the Goldback Team.

Lawrence Hilton
General Counsel
Beginning in 2009, Mr. Hilton conceptualized, drafted and then shepherded through the Utah Legislature the Specie Legal Tender Act, which was passed into law in 2011, with important amendments adopted during the 2012 session. By that statute, Utah became the first state in more than one hundred years to formally recognize gold and silver coinage as legal tender. Since then he has actively championed monetary reform measures in Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Arizona, Oklahoma and Texas—with the latter three states having adopted meaningful specie legal tender legislation.
Mr. Hilton formed Citizens for Sound Money in 2010, and the Utah Monetary Summit in 2011, which in its first year was attended by participants from more than a dozen U.S. states and half a dozen countries. In 2013, he co-founded the United Precious Metals Association (UPMA) to promote the commercial framework necessary to implement Utah's new monetary system. He also serves on the Gold Standard Now advisory board of American Principles in Action, a Washington D.C. based public policy think tank, as UPMA General Counsel, and as the Exchequer of the Royal Court of Breifne.
Mr. Hilton holds both Juris Doctorate and Masters of Business Administration degrees from Brigham Young University. Admitted to both the Utah and California bar associations, he has practiced in the areas of insurance coverage and defense, commercial litigation, business formation, bankruptcy and Constitutional law for more than 30 years. He currently holds insurance licenses in all 50 states and is a tribunalized cover holder with Lloyd's of London.
Larry also wrote this legal argument for the Goldback as a state legal tender here.
Benjamin Shaffer
Merchant services / legal Counsel
Benjamin Shaffer is our in house legal counsel and contract manager. He also works in Merchant Services meeting the needs of our growing business network. Not only as an attorney but also as an intellectual and historian Benjamin has studied political and economic philosophy for many years.
Collecting coins as a child including a "racketeer" nickel led his curiosity to study the economic problems in monetary policy. He saw the Goldback at our very first public event. Immediately realizing the many monetary solutions represented by the Goldback his law firm was one of the first businesses to accept the Goldback as payment. He started promoting the currency locally and spending them all over Utah.
As the Goldback company has grown quickly since that time the need for more legal expertise has also increased. Founder Jeremy Cordon asked Benjamin to give up his law practice and work fulltime for Goldback directly. With his background Benjamin is an important part of the Goldbacks team. He works primarily as our in-house legal counsel, contract manager, and building our business networks. He listens to our business partners and finds solutions to their problems.
Mr. Shaffer holds a Juris Doctorate degree from The University of Arizona. Admitted to both the Utah and Arizona bar associations, he has practiced in the areas of financial law, estate planning, contracts, transactional, business litigation, and Constitutional law.
